Today when we left West Yellowstone, the sky was filled with smoke and they had planned a community meeting for this evening. The fire was still 4 miles from town, but was only 1/10 of a mile from the only road leading into the park. It seems like it was a good time to be leaving. Even an hour or so away, we were still seeing smoke.

It was quite a windy drive with 30-35mph winds the entire way, but we made it to the KOA just outside of Glacier National Park (after a stop in Helena for groceries and lunch). Not that I didn't enjoy Yellowstone thoroughly, but I'm looking forward to some fresh air, some dirt trails, and far less tourists! Our campground is on St. Mary's Lake.
