First day in Moab, we started by heading over to Twisted Jeep to pick up our ride while we are here. It's an awesome modified rock-crawler. We even got upgraded to a 4-door! We headed out to Fins & Things trail in the Sand Flats Recreation Area.

Gavin said he was "anxious" to start!

Here goes nothing!

The scenery was as beautiful as the terrain was rugged.

The trail gets 2 thumbs up from Marina!

Of course we have to stop off for some bouldering!

We headed back to the camper for lunch and a rest. Gavin said he barely slept last night :-(

Just before 5, we headed out to Arches National Park. Viewing the Delicate Arch during the sunset provides some beautfiul lighting. It is a steep 1.5 mile trail to get to the top of the sand bowl upon which the 65 foot tall freestanding arch sits. There were consistent high winds at the top - with gusts around 45 mph. It made me extremely nervous, so once we got there, we found a spot and stayed put for a while.

Girls doing a trail selfie :-)

You can tell we are getting buffeted by winds by the look of Marina & Meg's hair.

Delicate Arch is the state symbol of Utah.

Delicate Arch's nickname is "Cowboy Chaps".

We even got a glimpse of the moon as it got later.

Beautiful sunset view as we descended the steep 1.5 miles (500 feet in elevation) back to the Jeep.

WHAT A DAY!!
