We decided to go ahead and stay on the strip in Las Vegas. The Circus Circus has a campground behind the hotel/casino. It's nothing spectaclar, just a big parking lot really, but hey, we were on the strip! We did have an end spot, so we had some shade and Tug could go out and potty.
We spent the first day exploring Circus Circus and the Adventuredome (world's largest indoor amusement park). I think we did more mileage hiking in this concrete jungle than we have at any other stop this entire trip! The first night, we walked all the way from Circus Circus down to Treasure Island to watch the Sirens of TI show outside the casino. The walk back felt like an eternity!
The second day we went back to Circus Circus to see some circus acts and play some games in the Midway. Marina came out with some serious loot: 1 big ball, 4 stuffed animals, 1 large pixie stick, and a big tootsie roll bank full of tootsie rolls.
Christian did some researching to find the best buffet on the strip and we made our way to the Wynn for some serious grub. We may have spent $60 for the three of us to eat lunch, but we got there just before the dinner prices started, so we really got the dinner buffet, which includes crab legs (yum!). We were there for an hour and 45 minutes (I think we got our monies worth!). The Wynn buffet is definitely worth the hype as the best buffet on the strip.
After a quick nap, we drove down and parked at Cesars Palace. From there, we made our way up the strip to the Mirage to watch the Volcano erupt - quite impressive. After that show, we made our way back down the strip to the Bellagio to watch the water show in the lake - very beautiful. The fountains were choreographed to This Kiss by Faith Hill.
(notice the DUI checkpoint on the Strip)
We have asked Marina every time we are packing up if she is ready to go to the next place. This is the first time she was thorougly upset that we were leaving some place. She loves, what she calls, Vagas!
